going to india with toddler

hey guys, im travelin to india in summer in few weeks. i was wodering what baby food should i take for them. hes eating gerber cereal and stage food from gerber. do they allow those in the carryon. any ideas as what to take.

Re: going to india with toddler

Depends on where you're going but everything, including Gerber food is readily available in supermarkets in major cities. Not too expensive either. I did take a few bottles to start out with, and you can ask your relatives to buy some for you ahead of time.

On the flight, you can take enough baby food for the trip. No liquids allowed.

Use bottled water from Bisleri or Nestle or Aquafina for all your food preps.

I don't know how old your kid is but this may be a good time to start him/her on home made baby foods such as khichri, mashed potatoes, etc..

where in India you are going to?

Nikki, most airlines pretty much let you carry anything, including liquids, if it's for the baby.

Check with the TSA websites and airlines.

yah i did call them today. they say 3 ounce gerber bottle are fine. that mean like the twin gerber food. i guess in india he'll eat soft rice and khichi. just the airplace im worry for. what about juice. can take it in sippy cup or bottle ?

I work at the airport in the uk, and when im on departures side i always see parents stocking up on baby food and milk to take on board as after they pass security ur able to take liquids.. If its a connecting flight u need to bag those things u buy @ airport with reciept.

Re: going to india with toddler

you can take liquids on board in the diaper bag. i just got back from europe with the kiddo and it was fine- i even had his bottle of sunscreen lotion in the bag, leftover from one of our excursions, and they had no problem with it. they just made me take a sip from his water bottle to make sure it was water. they also have milk on board on long-haul flights, or at least air france did, so we didn't have to worry about that. they were also very lovely about warming it up for us.

also take a couple of changes of clothes and bibs. i also had a pack of wipes in the diaper bag for his hands and face and anything else that needed cleaning, and of course diapers and the like.

any liquid bought past the security check is allowed on board the aircraft.
