Haha, that is so true. Such girls don’t really reserve the right to complain about anything after marriage. I strongly believe that the parents should approve of the marriage, but at the end of the day it is supposed to be YOUR decision. Whether you choose to exercise that right or not is another matter.

^ Yeah, parents should definitely have a say in what's going to be one of the biggest decisions of your life, but if you don't approve of the guy, then they should let it go. YOU'RE the one marrying the guy, not your mother or father, so you should have the last say. Islamically there is no such thing as a forced nikkah but many desis tend to forget that lil bit there...

So what exactly are you supposed to talk about with the girl?
What if she asks me why I agreed to come? what should I say? I am just going because my parents asked me to. It isn't because she is either so hot, or is highly educated or something else. (She is neither of those 2).

You ask her what she's interested in? What does she like to do? Where does she want to go with her future, education-wise. What expectations does she have.
Most importantly - what will score you major brownie points - ask "How are you feeling right now?"
That way you can talk about how nervous both of you are and how strange this is, etc - good icebreaker.

If you want to test the waters, just fire away on some current affairs stuff. Most desi girls are bowled straightaway whenever the topic drifts away from fashion, music and bollywood :D
