going on vacation on your own

Hellooo

So, would anyone go on vacation on their own? I mean completely solo.

I have a real temptation to get away from everything and just relax! A lot of my friends are pretty busy as our shifts dont co-ordinate like when I am on nights they are free when I am free they are on-call etc or dont have the monies or studying etc etc. Anyway I am not going to let that hold me back from going away for a few days.

Where would you go? Any ideas?

I want to go somewhere where I could potentially meet new people but I dont want to sit in my hotel room all day unsure of what to do/

What kind of thing would you do? and where would you go?

hmmmm I dont know if there is better in all views?

Re: going on vacation on your own

I would do go alone at least once for the hell of it. To see what it would be like…why not?

I’d go on a little resort trip somewhere - anywhere.

Re: going on vacation on your own

Its completely ok to go on your own, as long as its safe.
If you want to relax, go to Marbella, Spain, Hire a crew-free, mini luxury yatch, get it off the coast and spend a day or two in it.
Its ideal.

Re: going on vacation on your own

For a day/overnight, not for any longer though…

Re: going on vacation on your own

Our final vacation will be solo.

Yea…I would…I would go to a small resort as well, where they have lots of activities…I think it would be fun, you get to do your own thing and not worry about if others are enjoying it or not!!!

But make sure it is a safe place for a woman to travel alone to…

Re: going on vacation on your own

I dont even mind staying in england … im thinking a luxury spa weekend of some sort at a hotel so that there are people milling around and i dont feel isolated

Re: going on vacation on your own

Do a spa/yoga retreat weekend - totally doable alone.

Re: going on vacation on your own

what is that a fortune cookie?

Re: going on vacation on your own

It depends on what type of vacation you want to go on. If you want to just relax then it would be good. I’m sure there are guided tours where you can go alone as it’s usually a group of people.

Re: going on vacation on your own

I wouldn’t ever go alone, unless it’s a manicure/spa thing for a few hours, If it’s going to another city by car/flight, nope never, I would miss my husband/kids so much that i’d turn right around to take them back with me :hehe:

Re: going on vacation on your own

I’ve done this before twice and LOVED it. Both times it was a weekend trip (left Friday morning, and returned Sunday night) within the US. It was nice being away from everything & everyone. In fact, I didn’t even answer my phone while away (specifically told my parents to call me only if someone I love is in the ICU and/or dead).

Whether it within UK or at another country…you can do a variety of stuff. The resort/spa weekend is great. If you end up going to another country by yourself, just make sure its safe and book tours/activities etc so you’ll be around people.

Re: going on vacation on your own

Well wouldn’t going to a neighbouring country be like going from Florida to California?

Re: going on vacation on your own

I took a train from Frankfurt to Venice solo. Then walked the whole island by myself until later that night my friend arrived. Twas the best thing for my soul at the time. Point is, just go ahead and do. Solitude is so important.

Re: going on vacation on your own

I would love to go to umrah by myself. If i pray in front of others I know, i’m always worried that they will try to correct my way depending on their own thinkings and culture ( my MIL is always telling me i don’t pray correctly as i was taught by an Arab-African Imam). But i know as a female, that’s not possible.

I would love to go hiking trips myself, so that i can go at my own pace and stop and see what i like, when i like.

Re: going on vacation on your own

Every few months I will go away for two days - for my parents sake I will not go too far. But I do go away alone and spend two days doing nothing but anything I want. Check into a nice hotel and forget about whatever’s bugging you.
