There’s this whole campaign towards natural beauty and wearing no makeup. Going totally bare faced. I’ve just come across too many desis or non desis too for that matter wearing no makeup rather than a makeup-py look.
Most all my friends are makeup free for the most part everyday.
Is there really a stark difference between how the skin looks after it’s been exposed to makeup for years compared to the skin of women that have never worn makeup?
Maybe i understood ur post wrong… i thought u were asking if there is a negative effect on one’s skin from wearing makeup over the years.
Whether u wear makeup or not won’t have as drastic an effect on ur skin as not wearing sunblock/sunscreen. UV rays wreak havoc on skin, but we don’t realize until too late.
My cousins in Pakistan wear kajal, powder and lip balm daily. That’s their make up. For weddings and functions they almost always go to the parlours. Girls in Pakistan wear make up all the time, some less than the others.
Also, as S_Punk said. Wearing make up not makes no difference to your skin but skipping out on sun screen does. If you wear make up then proper skin care, like washing your face and cleansing before sleeping, keeps your skin the way it is and does no harm ( at least I’ve seen nothing wrong with mine, Alhamdullilah). However, if you wear no sun screen, over time UV rays damages your skin causing things like hyperpigmentation, sagging, tanning and over all dull skin. It damages your skin from the inside and before you know it, you skin in sun damaged. So even if people wear make up or not, that’s not a concerning topic, sun block however, that’s what we should be talking about
Some girls like to wear makeup, some don’t. It’s a personal preference. In my university some girls turn up with a full face of makeup, some in the middle with subtle bb creams and some with none. There is literally no trend of makeup vs non makeup going on.
Younger, unmarried girls were expected to stay makeup free by older folks but that rule is out of the window. My khala is looking for girls for her son and she now can’t tell the difference between married and unmarried girls at weddings which is driving her nuts. I don’t wear red lipsticks at family functions to appease my grandmother but I go all red when I’m with my friends but I never wore makeup at uni because the heat is not worth it.
Not taking off makeup at night is going to mess up your face and wearing makeup with irritants is going to mess it up.
My cousins in pak MashaAllah have clear skin and so the most that they wear is eye makeup and lipstick from what I recall. I don’t like wearing foundation and usually do without it. I like to keep it simple…eyeliner and a lippy…and maybe mascara if I’m in the mood.
Would like to see the business plan for the makeup vendor that gives it’s product away free. Probably their metric and target is # of sales per quarter.
