going into labour spontaneously

Now, when I am less than 4 weeks away from my due date, I am scared to death with the thought of going into labour at home This will be my second baby IA but for the first one, I was 10 days over-due and thus have NO idea how does it feel to have contractions and all since I never had any in the first place. I had to be induced in EVERY possible way to go into labour and the pains were totally irregular and bad…it was a horrible experience anyways.

I fear how to manage when water breaks or pains start ? My husband is a surgeon, mostly washed-up in the theatre. What if I keep calling him and he’s operating on a patient ? What are the worst possibilities if it takes some time to get to the hospital ? CAN I DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL MYSELF ? (I know someone who did as her husband took time to get back home and she was really impatient and nervous waiting for him)
