Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, federal immigration agents have targeted for removal thousands of Muslim immigrants illegally living in the United States. Ajaz Ahmad was one of those targeted. From member station WNYC, Marianne McCune followed Ahmad back to his hometown in Pakistan as he looked back on his life in America.
See this is what happens when a "terrorist" attack of this magnitude occurs. Perfectly innocent folks tend to get stereotyped. Obviously, white Americans are on a major witchhunt these days to find any muslims that have even any remote affiliation with terrorism. It's very frustrating for us muslims to be going through that right now. However, what we can do is educate these folks about what is and what isn't, as well as basically waiting for the storm to pass.
