I am planning to go for umra in the middle of February 2015. I am looking to book hotels (one day in madina and three days in makkah). Does anyone know how much should i expect for the hotels. Can anybody recommend any hotels that i can book?

you have to go through a travel agent who has Umra packages. they arrange your transportation, hotel and visa.
you may contact one of your local travel agent who specializes in Umra and Hajj tours. they will have one package to suit your needs. iA

No you can do it without Umra packages as well and that’ll save you some money. You have to do following things yrself:

thanx for the info but you can’t get a visa on your own. you have to go to one of the Saudi approved travel agency [those who do Umra packages have that approval from Saudis]. i also think that you have to arrange transportation through the same travel agent.

Hm.. I dont know much about visa honestly. I’m quite sure transportation can be arranged independently.

I do not worry at this time about anything else but hotels. I have the ticket and spoke to travel agent as well. I will do the booking and complete the rest of the documentation for the travel agent, to process the visa…thats why my post only questions the hotel and pricing info. Thanks in advance for the information and appreciate the responses posted above.

Are you in Canada? Can you please let us know how much the visa process costs with travel agent?

The fee varies from $130 to 185, so you have to shop around. SA will open the umra visa in 1st week of Dec, only then the firm price will be known…

in Toronto, it costs $225 just for visa and ground transportation between Jeddah and Mecca.
