Godsend - Robert De Niro

*Paul and Jessie Duncan (Greg Kinnear, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) have lost their beloved eight year-old son Adam (Cameron Bright) in a tragic accident. As they are arranging for his burial, Dr. Richard Wells, (Robert De Niro) approaches with the incredible offer to clone Adam, essentially bringing back their boy and reuniting their broken family. Despite the many legal, ethical and moral issues raised by the offer, the grieving couple, after much soul searching, accept Wells - proposal, placing them in a sort of Faustian pact with the doctor. But to the Duncans, the secrecy Wells demands is insignificant compared to the hope that their son will again have the chance to grow up. The couple moves to the small town of Riverton, home of Wells - impressive Godsend Fertility Clinic, where the stem cells carrying Adam’s DNA are implanted in Jessie’s womb and where Adam will be born and raised - for the second time. Adam’s new life follows a comfortable and, to Paul and Jessie, predictable pattern, until he reaches his eighth birthday - and virtually begins living on borrowed time. The parents have placed their complete trust in Dr. Wells, but now questions are raised and they start to wonder: just how far did he really go? Did he settle for simply playing God? Once they unravel the horrific truth, Paul and Jessie Duncan will have to come to terms with what they have done, and what has been done to their family. A thriller about a family that probes the outer-reaches of science and ethics in a desperate attempt to stay together, Godsend is also a cautionary tale for these challenging and morally ambiguous times. *
Has anyone see this movie yet. I like the plot…I will be watching it this weekend…Any guppies wanna join?

the previews looked kinda boring and it reminds of the movie Speilberg made a few years ago w/ the "I can see ghosts" kid. (can't think of the name right now). I am just curious to find out if the child goes psycho after his 8th b'day.

I am waiting for the movie. It comes to the theaters today?

I dunno. I have seen the preview a few times and the movie is fairly gripping and understandable till the point the new-Adam reaches the age of 8. From then, it somehow seems to transcend into a Damien Omen 2 kinda mode, which is really not my cuppa tea. After you have seen it, lemme know. If its too much horror, I'd just skip it, which will be unfortunate cz I really like De Niro.

Looks like an interesting one… :k:

It's an interesting movie, no really big horror scenes, but has a bit of a redundant storyline with a different twist.

I'd give it a 6/10.

A totally trashy film. Made no sense.

I'll join ya Fayz ;-)
SOunds like my kinda movie

I was (still am) sick last week so couldn't go to the movies..will try to go this weekend but 6/10 doesn't sound too promising. Shinoo you are most welcome to join...you have forty eight hours…get packing

Fayz you shouldn't ask for reviews. Just go out and watch it! The best movies I've seen were the ones I didn't know anything about before watching it.

starts packing
