God

what form do you think God is in ?

I don’t know how else to word this, hope i don’t offend anyone.

Re: God

I dont know why but I see Him as a man, with milky white beard, resembling my Nana!

I shouldnt have stated it though :(

Re: God

Interesting. And what is your god called

Re: God

He is the Creator of creature.

there are 99 names of Allah which defines His attributes.

Re: God

i think you mean “creator” not “creature” :hayaa:

Re: God

Hmm...so you were not asking how I imagine Him to be like appearance-wise?

Re: God

I was.

Re: God

God can be in any form, to some, its from stones, to some, its from sand and to some, its a human they worship, but Allah has only one form and that is NOOR. Allah is formed of Noor. Rest, our religion Islam has not permitted us to think beyond this, the more we think, the more illusions come into our mind, and this way, we are committing sin! So, being a Muslim, as we believe in the existance of Allah without even seeing him, we should believe in what he says too..! This is faith!

Re: God

When I imagine God ... Since I am bound by my aqeedah to believe that He does not occupy form since this is creating similitude with His creation ... I do so starting off with what I find familiar and then push the boundaries of my imaginal vision so that the imagery fades away leaving behind an intense feeling that I can then grow and focus upon.

So I know that God is Beautiful so I think of beauty in human terms and push the boundaries of this vision so far that the image disappears leaving an imprint of the feeling that is growing ... There is no way to visualise God ... When I think that God as the Overseer ... then I imagine that feeling I get when someone watches me, but then magnify it as much as I can ... It is less important for me to attempt seeing God in my mind than it is to focus on how I would feel knowing that God is before me in all of His Majesty in the Best possible Attributes.

Re: God

Other than the mental image I had of him growing up, which I try to shrug off obviously, I see Allah in the beauty and ugliness of this world, in karma, in the secrets of the universe and its vastness, in death, in birth, in the capability of humans' minds, in the ocean, in the stars...

Everywhere, but still dont follow all of His commands. pity

Re: God

& yes, when I see beauty on the earth, I believe, Allah is infinity times beautiful than what HE created, creates and will be creating!

Re: God

In my opinion, God is a noor that can change any form.

God is the smile of a baby, God is fountain, God is the color of the sky, God is the song of the nightingale, God is the salty ocean water, and sweet river water, God is the heat of the sun, God is the chlorophyll of the leaves, God is the buoyancy of the boat, God is the purple in lavender and the white in the lily, God is the serotonin that calms the nerves, God is the adrenaline that gives the rush. God is the intense feeling in your heart that make you run to help someone in need

God is purity and beauty and wisdom .. and positive energy

You cannot play around with God, you have to be fair and nice, God's is the path straight.

If you are obedient and nice, and you stay away from evil, rest assured God will never abandon you, never betray you, never leave you alone in distress.

Re: God

.... When you "are" ... God is "not

and when you are "not" God "is" !!!!!!!

Re: God

i thought south park settled this issue once for all .

that is so much greek concept. recently it has been pushed by western culture as one accepted god.

btw, it looks like u enjoy a special relationship with your nanaji.

Re: God

just thinking what to write about God... but words will confine him in boundries... and who can be defined in words is not God... so the saints mostly kept quite... and just tolked on simple things...

Re: God

My God (Allah) Is beyond the concept of time and space, He is not like His creatures. He was there, when there was nothing, then He created His Throne and Water and The Pen and then the rest of the Universe. He is there just like He was when there was nothing and will be like that even when there will be nothing if He wills. He created Time so Time doesnt apply to Him, He created space and place so they dont apply to Him. The Throne is to show His power. The throne is the last creation that surrounds everything and He is beyond that. Thus He is also beyond my imagination. However, He has described Himself in our own language to make us understand Him just as much as we need too, He tells us He is Merciful and His Mercy is not like any creature's Mercy, but much more stronger than it. He tells us that He hears but not like any creature, His Hearing is much stronger in other words, He Hears everything at the same time. He tells us He sees, but His saying is not like any creation's, but much more unique and stronger, in other words, He sees everything. He is the Supreme creator who doesn't need anything, but instead, everything needs Him. He is the All Power Full. He is One and Only One, He has nothing equal to Him. He is beyond the concept of time and space but at the same time closer to me than my jugular vein through His knowledge. He cannot comprehend Him but He perfectly comprehends me.

Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision, and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted (6:103)

But at the same time:

*Some faces that Day shall be Nâdirah (shining and radiant). Looking at their Lord *(75:22-23)

This means that one cannot fully grasp Allah, just like when we see the sky, we cannot see the whole of it and only what fits in our vision. Just like that on the Final Day, We will see Allah, but not comprehend Him.

May Allah forgive me if anything I said was not correct, as He, is also, the Most Forgiving and His forgiveness is not like any creature's forgiveness, but far better.

Re: God

pysah,

Thanks for putting in words. This is the closest we can express with our human capacity. Believe in God with His existence and not with His appearance that our minds can not even begin to imagine.

Re: God

Fiction has no real form.

Re: God

Mother earth Gaia from Captain planet.

Re: God

That is true, but utterly irrelevant to this conversation. :)
