Dude, it’s a grammar issue within the English language and not a gender issue. If you would call GOD a “her” it would make GOD most certainly a female. And If you’d call GOD an “it”, it would be disrespectful. Get the point?
In the Holy Quran, GOD refers to himself in the plural and not the singular form, it doesn’t make him more than one entity or does it? (Nausobillah)
