Re: `God did not create the universe'
Scientific logic prevails, once again.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
^ haha...talk about blind relief... in science... which is only as much limited as ur ticking clock.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
stephen hawking is an idiot .. i mean ..he himself is a creation right .. it i.e. a creation can be faulty hence his view is bogus ..
ofcorse we already know that ..that Allah Almighty created everything including the universe
Re: `God did not create the universe'
So far in the book (end of chapter 4) he is talking about that for every incident that ever happens, there are infinite possible futures but also set infinite possible histories. Everything that we see today did not come from one history but the combination of all the possible histories.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
‎"God did NOT create the Universe", says Stephen Hawking. To which God replied, "enjoy your chair"...
Re: `God did not create the universe'
So I finished the book last night, but I conclude that the title and the topic seems to be a sensational publicity stunt. The book is a good read with lots of inetresting new theories but the conclusion (the last chapter) seemed pretty lame. Its sounded pretty forced conclusion to prove that the universe does not require a creator.
In nutshell, he argued that the way most of the theories are proving themselves to be true, and to go ahead with the new latest theory of everything 'the M theory' that sounds a promising theory that could combine all the forces of nature (4 forces), multiverse (many universes) concept is required. Multiverse is like Darwin's theory of evolution where a creator is not required but it all started with a simple chemical interaction and through many centuries of 'survival of the fittest' rule, an amoeba evolved into modern human. In a similar manner, big bang (or many big bangs) created many many universes, that all had different sets of physical laws. Only few (or just one) universe(s) survived because they (it) had the laws that could hold a stable universe for billions and billions of years. Because our universe evolved out of many failed universes then it cannot be a grand design but more like survival of the fittest.
Strong argument but no where did he talk about how those laws came into being. Who created those laws?
Re: `God did not create the universe'
So who created these "laws"? Who created the situation "inevitable consequence" Stephen Hawkings is an idiot.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
As I said, the name and topic is all a publicity stunt.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
As they would say in 90s Bollywood movies.
"Buddha sathya gaya hai."
Re: `God did not create the universe'
Stephen Hawkings a well established and admired name in modern science is an idiot and we have all the great minds right here on the GS.
He presented his work you present yours and that is the way of scientifc discourse. Calling him idiot and what not makes you look like a bigger one.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
^ Have you read the book or you are just enlightening us with your assessment of who is idiot and who is not our of thin air?
Re: `God did not create the universe'
No I have not yet thus I did not comment on what he said or if I agree or disagree. I was commenting on the general tone of this thread.
However, may I ask why my comment bugged you as it was civilized than most of the others?
Re: `God did not create the universe'
You have to understand the religious sentiments of most of the people here. Any arguement/debate from anyone who claims that we dont need God will only be received with harsh emotions.
But emotions aside, I invite you to go and read the book. As I said, its a great read except the last chapter. In that capter you will realize the Mr Hawking just tied a camel around a palm tree so he can talk about the palm tree at the end instead of sticking with the camel cause Palm tree topic sells. I would love to get your real feedback of that book.
Re: `God did not create the universe'
I will. Thanks for the recommendation.
