Goal to life related to religion

The question of all. What is the meaning of life?

People value their live so highly but for what reason. We live a short life in comparison to the whole of the world or even the universe. We grow older we compeate we influence the growth of a planet and enjoy in plesures, but to what purpose? All i can see through history ing the goal to make life easyer for our desendents. So far over the past 2,000 year man, and woman, have been able to expand the life expectance from 35 to 97 years, we have made travel easyer, we have made living quarter safer, and we have increased medical knowledge. But to what purpose?

I do not know how many people have learned about the buddhist belief, but acording to their religion the goal to life is to gain ultimate Truth, refered to by buddhists as Dharma. They do not believe in god(s) but instead concern themselves about their souls. according to the belief once a buddhist has achived Dharma there souls will be pure, an be able to explore the universe for ultimate wisdome. As a soul explores the universe it gathers impurities, which pull it back down to Earth. Once a soul comes back to earth it will enter not a humman but an animal who is savage. And as the soul incarnates more and more animals it become more pure and eventualy encarnates a human again. And slowly through each reincarnation a sould gains more wisdom. And the goal of Buddhism is to achive ultimate wisdom for all creatures.

I do not know but i think Buddhism is the only religiun, besides hinduism, which is along the same lines, that gives people a goal in life.

Re: Goal to life related to religion

Well as Muslims are goal in life in theory is to do good deeds as prescribed by Islam in order to please Allah...thats the highest form of belief when your goal is linked directly to making god happy...
Otherwise as Muslims our goals in life should be to try our best to avoid Hellfire and make it to Heaven...
Hence dealing with all these hurdles and temptations God puts in front of us and Inshallah attaining a good life in the hereafter...

Islam is directly linked with a goal in life...

Bu then so is every religion...religion is directly linked to that exact point...For Hinduism do good deeds and have good Karma etc so you are better in your next life...

Christianity and Judaism are monotheistsic so similarly to Islam...obey God and go to Heaven...

Religion is there to provide a goal in life...

Re: Goal to life related to religion

yes most religions give people a goal to accomplesh in life, but that goal is almost allways one that only affects the person trying to acomplishthe goal given to them.

Another question would be why did god "the creator of heven and earth" create living creaters at all? to amuse him mabe, as it is so with the Greek gods?
