Go Musharraf Go !! OR Go for Musharraf. Give your Verdict

Re: Go Musharraf Go !! OR Go for Musharraf. Give your Verdict

Errrr! Try again Reza!

No doubt he has done some greattt things, and opened way for outlets that made the country a new Pakistan today. But to name him ‘THE GREATEST’ leader since Quaid…i dono about that. I think that’s a little far fetched.
Now before you go all outta hinge about this, hear me out first!

  1. Bhutto was considered the greatest leader after the ‘GREAT’ first leaders, and i’ll tell you why:

a. He had the nerve to send a clear message to U.N. when he visited, because Pakistan was just being bullied around at his time. And he made it clear that the pakistani ppl were sick of it. The resistance Iran is putting up today unsuccessfully, he was the man that was able to tear up the notice of sanctions and make it clear to any one of those nations present at U.N. that Pakistan had its right to develop nukes just as do other nations who already have them. You should see one of his speeches, it’s quite moving.

b. He introduced the Nuke program, and thus the reason for Pakistan being a nuke club member today, is due to him.

c. He was on the verge of all muslim-alliance, he called a first-ever summit of all muslim country leaders in Lahore, and suggested that muslim countries have so many resources, if they would just unite, they don’t have to take shh from others. They can develop well as a true ‘Third World block’. Now when we think of the term third world, it’s usually bad, undeveloped and such. Think again!?

d. He had the power of ppl, he was able to rally people behind him. He knew how to connect with people. Musharraf knows exactly the opposite. Sadly.

e. He was removed because the ‘Global Arms Monopoly’ was at risk, if he had stayed around any longer, the muslim nations would have united to form an elite alliance.

With that said, he did some things that were totally wrong too. Like the division of East/West Paklands…sad indeed. But there are reasons for that as well.

Having said alllllllll that, i have to make clear that his daughter is NOT what he envisioned she would accomplish after him. The modern world politics corrupted her. The lady herself is extremely educated, and has more merit than any other politician that has set foot on scene so far, her drawbacks started from her marriage days because she got a jack of a husband. His corruption sank her political-ship and her govt. came under huge suspecions. Ofcourse she’s involved too, but the core issue is/has been her surroundings.

So, when we’re naming great leaders lets be rational about it, read up on the past, not just explore the present. A military ruler of a land is hardly an accomplishment for any country.
I’m all for what Musharraf did to topple Nawaz’s govt., because that was the right thing to do at the time. He was on the right path, he came in with the right ideas, but soon thereafter he got the company of some very tribalistic valued men (chaudhries) and ofcourse the potion of power got to him as well overtime.
With all due respect, he should follow thru on all his promises of re-election FAIRLY, leave his army title to the awaiting General and show some sincerety, although i doubt that’s possible at this time because his scandals just like old politicians’ scandals have already and will start to surface as well. The billions in aid didn’t reach the public, who they were meant for, that’s for sure. So where did all that money go?
I rest my case.
Reza, i meant no disrespect, i love reading your stuff. You have bright ideas but…pleaseeeeee be realistic, i know you like the guy and his performance, we all do but dont’ insult some of the true leaders of this nation by naming him above them.
Even Ayub Khan didn’t go to the extremes of action against civilians that he’s gone to. so lets just keep focused…
