There are so many things to love about Gmail. I can go on and on. But here I am going to share two features which helps me a lot to manage my account. Specially when i have to share my email id on random forums.
“+” sign. This is the feature i use a lot. So assume that I am signing up my new account on Gupshup, and i don’t want gupshup email’s to be cluttered with in my mailbox. I can signup by using email [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected] and the emails will still be delivered to me. I can then put a filter in gmail that any email which has to:[email protected] should be archived right away. Normally, I have couple of filters like [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected], [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected] and whenever I have to give my ID at a random website, I use one of these. And i don’t have to worry about anything. The best thing about this feature is that yo ucan use ANY TEXT on the fly. [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected] will still be delivered to my inbox or [EMAIL=“[email protected]”][email protected] is still my ID

Re: Two GMail features that can help you manage your account
another one of gmail gems:
Go into Gmail's General Settings and click the "Show "Send & Archive" button in reply" radio button. From now on, when you're composing an email, you can send your message and archive the thread in one fell swoop-keeping your inbox clean and tidy.

Re: GMail features that can help you manage your account
**Quick Links
**Another feature that I believe is really handy. You can enable this from your Gmail Labs and then you have to reload the your gmail inbox. After done reloading, you will see it on left side of your inbox (at the bottom left corner, select "..." to see Gadgets if your chat is enabled). The beauty of this feature is that you can bookmark any "Search" done on gmail to recall it quickly.
For example, I want to keep track of all the PDF files which has been sent to me. What I will do is ..
Search for those PDFs by typing in search field "filename: pdf" (without quotes ofcourse)
Gmail will show you all the emails in which there are PDF file as attachments
Now under the Quicklinks gadget you will see a small text which says "Add a quick link". When you click on it, your current view of Gmail (which is the search view for finding PDF files) will be bookmarked and you can name it whatever you like say My PDFS.
Once done, you will see My PDF link all the time on your left side of the inbox and whenever you need to browse your pdf's file, you can just click on it.
Of course, this was just an example, you can search for more complex types and make it as a bookmark. For example I Want to see what PDF's i have emailed so I will type in search box as
in:sent AND filename:pdf
Or to make it more complex, I want to keep track of last 2 weeks of pdfs that I have emailed
