Glycolic Peel Treatment?

**Have any of you here ever had any type of glycolic(chemical) peel done? Do you know anyone who has? **

**If you did have it done, how many treatments did it take before you noticed any significant change? **

Thanks in advance!

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

I was a great fan of 'em but not anymore.

I'd probably take an oral treatment than peels cause they leave ones skin open to any form of bacteria after the treatment which results in more damage than what its supposed to do.

And if the place you are visiting is not sterile and donot pay attention to cleanliness then you'll be doing more damage to your skin than good plus spending all that amount of money on something that is not doing you any good.

Ask your doctor for an oral treament which most skin spec these days are recommedning and using themselves anyways.

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

You mentioned you used to be a fan.....so did you actually have it done? If so then what were the results? How many treatments did it take?

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

Yep Ive had 'em done for a period of 3 years and yes the peels did bring home the results but i was getting sick of the home care products and wanted to just try something new.

Initially I had a course of 6 treatments, one per week and that gave the results that i was looking for and then had 'em done monthly with a facial.

However these days with Omnilux facials one doesnt need peels, google up Omnilux and read bout 'em.

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

I've had a couple done. They hurt!!!

And I wasn't all the impressed with the results either - for that amount of pain I expect far more peeling than I actually got. I went for a couple of green peels in the end which were deffo worth the pain.

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

^ Where were you getting your peels from
peels dont hurt...
They arent meant to hurt.

they might sting if you've been out in the sun or if your skin is dry but they dont hurt.

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

^ Erm yeah they do hurt....green peels in particular since it's made from herbs like stinging nettles which are basically rubbed into your skin for around 20 minutes - it feels like ground glass.

But like they say, no pain no gain :D

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

^havent had greens done so duno what it feels like.

But glycolics def dont hurt, they sting and tingle and the skin is ultra ultra sensitive to sunlight after that but it doesnt hurt.

Re: Glycolic Peel Treatment?

What brit chick is talking about sounds like a green peel. Thats the one where it feels like someone's raking little glass pieces in your skin and that hurts. Glycolic peels on the other hand DO NOT hurt. I got them done several times and always was pleased with the results. Again, please make sure you go to a nice clean place and get it done from somene who knows what they are doing. I really liked the smooth feeling afterwards.
