Glycolic Acid Peels...

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels…

If I remember correctly, I believe there is one for body… think I saw it on Amazon.com. Do you a quick search online and I’m sure you’ll find something.

(P.s. if these peels are okay to be used on face, I am sure there are okay for body as well… but double-check, just as a precautionary measure.)

P.p.s: This is what I found on Amazon: Amazon.com : Cellbone Body Peel - Body Hydration and Rejuvenation Treatment with 15% Alpha Hydroxy Acid and DMAE in a high Potency Hyaluronic Acid Solution 2 fl. oz : Facial Peels : Beauty & Personal Care
I am sure there are other ones as well, you just need to thoroughly read through the instructions/specifications/details to make sure that it’s what you’re looking for.

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels...

Body or face doesn't matter. The acid is all the same. I've used the MUAC peels on my face and on my back...no issues. Just keep in mind please...whereever you apply the acid, the skin becomes extra sensitive. If it's exposed skin (neck, arms etc), please apply sunscreen anytime you're outside.

Which sunscreen do you guys recommend? I can't seem to find a high factor one that docent make me look 'ghosty' :-/

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels...

Where can I buy it in the UK.. I am interested

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels...

I use Neutrogena Sheer Dry Touch SPF 55 when I'm not wearing makeup (and on my body). If I wear make-up during the day....I use MAC Prep&Prime SPF 50 as my primer&sunscreen.

Whatever you choose....just look at the ingredients and make sure it does not have avobenzone + octinoxate together. 1 of these ingredients is fine on its own....just make sure they're not BOTH on it.

On a side note....from what I read on the skincare board at MakeupAlley....the SPF # isn't that huge of a deal (SPF 100 isn't going to give you that much more "protection" than SPF 55). Stick to somewhere between 45 to 65 and you'll be fine.

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels...

Is it safe to get laser hair removal treatment say a few days before/after the peel? how much time is safe to keep in between?

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels...

No.

Once you do the peel, leave the skin alone for a few days (at least!). Just apply sunscreen and moisturizer (and light make up if you need to).

As for before.....once you do laser hair removal....wait at least 1 week to do the peel (or more if you have sensitive skin).

You need to understand the the "peel" is you applying ACID on your skin. The acid itself will make you skin sensitive. You don't want to do anything before or after the peel that will make you skin extra sensitive. Specially if its your 1st time doing a peel. You have no idea how YOUR skin will react. So before your very 1st peel...for 1 week....don't do anything harsh to your skin. Plan on leaving it alone for 1 week after (if you recover faster...that's great).

Re: Glycolic Acid Peels…

My sister got me this last week and I absolutely LOVE it: http://www.casbahdayspa.com/shop/index.php/cPath/204

  • Aquafolia Enzymatic Exfoliant step 1
  • Aquafolia Enzymatic Exfoliant step 2
  • Aquafolia Triple Action 3A Cream

^ this is not a peel, but it pretty much gives the same kind of results (clear/glowy skin). And as per Pyari^Sii^Bachi’s recommendation, I also bought these but haven’t had a chance to try them out yet:

I am going to wait until I finish up the Aquafolia products before trying the Neostrata ones.
