Wax recipe

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
¼ cup water
¼ cup lemon (nimbu) juice

Method

Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. Keep stirring the mixture until all the sugar has melted, and you have a thick brown liquid. Let it cool slightly.

Waxing technique

1.Test the temperature before applying the wax to your skin. It should be hot, but not scalding, or you can burn yourself.
2.Once the wax has cooled slightly, test it on your finger. Blow on it to cool it with your breath and apply it to your skin with a butter knife, in the direction of hair growth.
3.Place a clean cotton cloth strip on the wax and yank it against the direction of hair growth.
4.Wipe the area clean with a cold cloth after you’ve finished waxing.
5.You could also apply ice to the waxed area, to close and tighten pores.
6.You may notice that your skin has turned red, or that you have tiny bumps on the skin immediately after waxing. This is a normal reaction, and the redness and bumps should disappear within an hour. Applying a moisturizer or soothing lotion will help.

If you can still see sugar particles in the wax, the hair will probably not come out and you would need to re-cook the wax.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

***Orange Cream Sugar Body Scrub*
This recipe is great to remove dead skin and give your skin a healthy glow. The sugar contains glycolic acid and the cream is a source for lactic acid. Avoid irritated or broken skin areas.
Ingredients: ½ cup sugar, 2 TBSP cream or whole milk, 5 drops orange oil, and 1 cup olive, jojoba, or almond oil
Mix sugar, oil and cream together. Add orange oil after main ingredients are completely mixed.
Apply to your body by starting at the feet and working your way up. Massage in a circular motion and leave it on for 10-15 minutes, then shower it off. This recipe is enough to make one full body treatment.
Lemon Head Sugar Body Scrub
This recipe is both cleansing and detoxifying. Lemon is very detoxifying to the body and will also help brighten the skin.
Ingredients: ½ cup sugar, 10 drops lemon oil, or ½ a lemon freshly squeezed, and 1 cup olive, jojoba, or almond oil

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Brown sugar body scrub
Ingredients
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground oats
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon almond oil (in case you don't have almond oil, use olive oil, it is a great substitute).
Preparation

  • Before you start preparing this scrub, grind the oatmeal using a coffee grinder or food processor. It has to be of sandy consistency, flaky and light otherwise it will scratch the skin.
  • Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until it resembles a paste
  • It should be applied on moist skin, the best time is after you took a shower. It will help the skin cells slough off faster.
  • Use circular motion and massage gently using your fingertips.
  • Rinse off with warm water.

What do these ingredients do?
Oatmeal is hypoallergenic. In case you have sensitive skin, using the oatmeal is highly recommended because it is soothing and there is no risk that it will irritate the skin. Oatmeal is benefitial to oily skin as it is extremely absorptive and picks up on excess oil. It helps dry and itchy skin and is widely used in cosmetics.
Aloe vera gel is gentle on skin, it speeds its healing and reduces the possible irritation and pain.
The next brown sugar scrub contains lemon which is a great natural disinfectant. It opens up the clogged pores and cleanses them thoroughly so your skin can "breathe" better.

Brown sugar lemony body scrub recipe
Ingredients
1/ cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sea salt
1 tablespoon of coconut oil (as with the previous scrub, you could use olive oil)
1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tablepoon of honey.
Preparation

  • Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until it resembles a paste
  • It should be applied on moist skin, the best time is after you took a shower. It will help the skin cells slough off faster.
  • Use circular motion and massage gently using your fingertips.
  • Rinse off with warm water.

Almond oil sugary scrub **
**Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Almond Oil
  • 10 Drops Vitamin E
  • 10 Drops Essential oil/Fragrance Oil Preparation

Mix oil, vitamin E and essential oil or fragrance oil in a bowl. Add sugar and mix well. Divide into containers.

Honey body scrub **
**Ingedients

3/4 cup of honey
1 cup of sugar (you could use brown sugar, even better than regular sugar)
1 cup of sea salt or Kosher salt
1 tablespoon of jojoba oil
1 tablespoon of oil of your choice: vanilla, orange...

Preparation

  • Mix the dry ingredients first.
  • Add oil and mix until you get a paste-like mixture
  • It should be applied on moist skin, the best time is after you took a shower. It will help the skin cells slough off faster.
  • Use circular motion and massage gently using your fingertips.
  • Rinse off with warm water.

Honey is excellent as it is a strong antibacterial agent. Strawberries in body scrub recipes
You could always mash a handfull of strawberries, add an essential oil of your choice, a bit of oatmeal, a bit of honey and use it as a scrub. There are no specific amounts, add oil until you get the pasty consistency.
Strawberries act similar to honey, they dissinfect the skin, smooth it out, and decrease the appearance of dilated pores.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

To prepare an Avocado body scrub you will need:
Ingredients

  • 1 ripe, mashed avocado (peeled and pitted)
  • 1/2 cup of almonds

Preparation

  • Coarsely grind the almonds
  • Put on a muslin mitten and place it in the mix of almonds and oatmeal
  • Scoop up some avocado
  • Rub the body with this mixture
  • Rinse off with warm water and pat dry

The next scrub is based on sea salt and apricot oil. Salt exfoliates the skin and removes the dead skin cells, while apricot oil goes behind it and heals and moisturizes the skin.
Apricot salt body scrub
Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of apricot kernel oil
  • 2 cups of sea salt

Preparation and use

  • Take a shower before you start with this

  • Combine the salt and the oil into a paste like mass
