Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

can the oil help acne/scars?

That oil was specifically for healthy hair..I'll ask about the acne scars u mentioned. PF, why don't you try laser re-surfacing?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

I was wondering if its ok to rub lemon directly on face. I know its strong for skin but if your skin is ok with direct lemon application and does not irritate. then is it ok to apply it like everyday?

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

^^ I would be careful with that cherry.

I don't mind... so long as it works. :)

I am no expert but I wouldn't do that if I were you. It may irritate your skin... I mean lemon is quite acidic so applying it directly on your face might not be such a great idea.

Why don't you just use a mild astrigent instead? That is what I have been doing for about three weeks now and I have honestly noticed a huge difference.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Hi Gina, I tried the honey and cinammon paste today on my face, I just wanted to ask how long I should keep it on for before washing off? I have a few marks on my temple from pimples in the past, will it help make them go away

Ok the thing is I have less than two months left for my Nikkah Inshallah. I didnt get much time to brush myself up because of tight schedule of classes. I was talking about what if we have no irritation on skin with direct application of lemon juice? I tried it last night. I rubbed lemon on my face and i got no irritation. It might dry out ur skin but i used my night cream which is moisturizing so I had no problem with dry skin. I know lemon is highly acidic and usually people cant bare it with applied directly on skin. But what if your skin is not irritated and ok with the direct application. I mean i was wondering if there are any long term side affects? I hope there are none. Applying gram flour with lemon effects slow. I have little time so I thought if my skin is ok with it I can use lemon like this. Do you think there are any long term sideaffects?

Hi gina, i did. i did may sessios of laser resurfacing. they did not work

Hmmm, as for as the long term side-effects are concerned, I haven't the slightest clue. Sorry. Gina might be able to answer this question for you... she is our GS BEAUTY Guru. :)

I am glad the application of the lemon didn't irritate your skin. I personally couldn't do it. My skin is terrrrribly sensitive. I break out over anything and everything. It's a nightmare, to say the least. But, Alhamdulillah I haven't had any breakouts in a while now. I have just been following a simple yet effective skin regiment: Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize, and protect.

I am currently using a combination of La Mer gel cleanser and this other cleanser which I purchased from Mario Badescu's website (Enzyme cleansing gel)... and they have both been great. My skin has never felt or looked this good. Though, I am still struggling to rid myself of the old acne marks (dark brown patches). :(

Anyway, what exactly is the problem with your skin? Acne/pimples...? Whatever the case maybe, talk to Gina about it.. I am sure she'll be able to give you plenty of advice. She's great. :biggthumb

Midnite, you keep it on for 10-15 mins.

cherry, please try applying lemon directly onto u're skin and see if it irritates you and then apply it every other day. It's best to let u're skin "rest" for a day. I'd like to ask why u're applying lemon juice directly onto u're face? Is it because of acne marks? Marks take a long time to fade..

ginaa u did not respond to mee

PF, I'm confused. Did u get micro-derm done or laser-resurfacing? Laser resurfacing takes several sessions and makes the indented acne scars smoother.

yup ive had laser sessions it took several months but they did not do anything

^ VERY strange, I had similar marks ( 2 on my forehead) and it took me 5 sessions and they're gone Alhamdulilah!

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

^ Gina i think it depends on whether they are those shallow round scars or if they are what is known as 'ice pick' scars.

Pakifairy, i think i mentioned it before but the only way to get rid of icepick scars is either filling (which is temporary), with fillers such as restylane. or some minor plastic surgery with techniques such as 'punch elevation' or 'punch excision'.

if they are really bothering you that much, do some research and go to a good cosmetic surgeon and have them sorted out properly.
