Two Pakistanis, i.e. Shoaib Malik and Shabbir Ahmad will play for Gloucester this year. In the 70’s both Zaheer and Sadiq also played together for Gloucester. They became so popular with the people around the Gloucester area that two villages were renamed after them. Once was called Charlton Abbas and the other Wootton under Mohammed. Lets see if these two can follow in their footsteps.

Gloucestershire have clinched the signing of Pakistan Test bowler Shabbir Ahmed as their second overseas player.
Ahmed, 27, has taken 33 wickets in six Test matches, and has played 19 one-day internationals.
“Shabbir is an exciting bowler who is well suited to English conditions and I think he’ll greatly strengthen our side,” said head coach Mark Alleyne.
He joins Pakistan spinner Shoaib Malik, who is returning after a short spell last season.
Ahmed will be available after Pakistan’s home series against India, which concludes two weeks into the county season.
He has been undergoing remedial work on his bowling action after being reported during a one-day international in January.
