Gloomy

is that in any way connected with gyming :frowning: it’s my 2nd day after a break of almost 2 months and i m all down n gloomy.

:=(

I need some motivation here.

Re: Gloomy

You mean you don't feel fit and that part is making you sad? Or having to work out is?

Re: Gloomy

Once you fall off of the usual routine, the first few days back its going to be gloomy but stick it out and you'll be fine

Re: Gloomy

it shouldn't be. exercise makes u release tension n u should feel really good after ur first work out, a lil soar but internally good not gloomy.

Having to work out is :(

Thnx. I hope so too :( The only good is that i dont seem to have lost my stamina so that's good.

That's what i thought but no. I guess cuz i m just thinking too much abt it and taking it as a burden?!

Re: Gloomy

Just imagine yourself in that perfect shape which you wanted to be in, make up your mind by thinking that evrything is possible and i am definately going to be what i have always wondered...no matter what...i am not a quitter.

Re: Gloomy

Awwie, Sweet. Thanks for the motivation :=)

Re: Gloomy

It takes about a week to get acclimated to the workout routine again…at the very least three days but here is something to look forward to:

The psychological benefits of exercise work in many ways, but the first and most obvious is the way in which exercise causes the immediate release of hormones. Specifically training causes the release of endorphins which are feel good hormones that leave you feeling calm, energised and optimistic. It is endorphins that are responsible for the so called ‘runners high’ and also one of the reasons that exercise can be addictive as you try and recreate this high. Endorphins block the feelings of pain and create feelings of euphoria by attaching to receptors on the outer surfaces of brain cells. The receptors that are responsive to endorphins are actually the same as those for many recreational drugs making endorphins the brain’s very own marijuana meaning the psychological benefits of exercise are the same but without the negative side effects such as marijuana and brain damage.

Other psychological benefits of exercise revolve around the way in which it improves IQ and overall cognitive function. It has been shown that regular cardiovascular

activity can help improve our short term memory which in turn helps us with non verbal reasoning and maths tasks – improving our ‘fluid intelligence’ (intelligence which doesn’t require previous knowledge). One study of mice showed that regular treadmill excersice prevented ‘ischemia-induced apoptotic neuronal cell death’ in the dentate gyrus – basically meaning it prevented the deterioration of brain cells in a critical part of the brain.

Re: Gloomy

Hang in there - just like anything else it takes a while to form the habit. Like others have suggested try going with a friend.

Re: Gloomy

Mahamz who is your fav hot actress? Print out her photo and post it on your fridge or wall.. imagine yourself in her body and set a goal.. I know it sounds girly but i've told me clients to do the same and it helps.. especially females clients, they tend to impress a lot by hot bodies which gives them plenty of motivation =)

Re: Gloomy

When I work out...I watch The Devil Wears Prada...try it...works like a charm.

Awwie. I have some people now at gym whom i can talk 2 and it gets easy. Plus its my 2nd week now and you can say i have adjusted well and don't really find it that boring now.

lol, nice.

Woho! That's my most favorite movie. Loveeee it!

I do that too! I've got Kareena on my fridge. If she can do it, so can I!

Also, putting up pics of yourself when you were skinnier helps as well. I've started doing that and its the first thing I see every morning so my goal gets reinforced just when I need it.

Re: Gloomy

I totally agree about the pic thing. and kareena uh la la la amazing example lols. Seriously if she can do it so can WE! and we must motivate eachother on this THREAD!!
