Global warming is for sure the reason for the climate change as whole. The frequency of hurricane has definetly increased, but a detailed study (if it is underway) will tell how much of impact it has over hurricane buildup process.
Suppose if that is the case, the irony is that the country which has been refusing to sign Kyoto protocol accord for years IS the first direct victim of this new heat wave. Human nature is to live in denial, atleast that is the case of modern society. There own Newton Chacha said once (for motion, but it applies everyone) For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction

I never understood, why is being a Republican = Complete denial of anything even related to global warming.
