I wear glasses on a daily basis and contacts when I'm going out/socializing. I used to wear contacts on a daily basis when I was in HS/uni, but was pretty careless with its upkeep - I used to sleep with them in.
Now I buy daily disposables which mean no cleaning or fuss - just wear and toss and because its generally only a weekend thing, they last a good long while.
