giving people water

I understand that it you gain reward or Sawaab by giving somebody water to drink, I can understand the logic behind this and it makes sense.

However I have heard this being used when somebody wants something like lemonade or coke…

What I’d like to know is, are these people using the “rule” out of context, or is it only to be used specifically for giving people water?

Or is all of the above incorrect?

I’d be grateful for Quranic quotes to back up what you say

thankyou

Re: giving people water

does NOBODY KNOW?

Re: giving people water

LD: You will have to tell us if the lemons used in the lemonade were grown with Halal "khaad". Secondly if the lemons were ever exposed to any by product of piggy.
You silly billy dont you know that coke is owned and operated by the long nose jews, hence its haram. So if the people ask for lemonade or Coke, you either give them water or lussi.

Re: giving people water

Muslims take an Islamic rule and then change it to suit themselves...

I refuse to make Lussi for anybody

Re: giving people water

but lussi is good for you, better than Coke

Re: giving people water

When someone is thirsty, you help’em quench their thirst (with halal products of course  ) you get sawab. If they are asking specifically for lemonade/coke while water is avaible then their “thirst” doesn’t seem to be real casting doubts on whether you get sawab or not.

Re: giving people water

Quran has no quote even for sawab for giving water....
the only instance in the Quran where someone gave water to somebody else, was when Moosa (as) fetched water from the well for the daughters of Shoaib (as) in Madayen....
and for that no one mentioned that Allah wud give him sawaab, instead the oen of the daughter came to him and said "my father calls u to reward u for giving us water" and he rewarded him by giving him a job and his daughter's hand....
no sawaab mentioned....

hence dont think u will find any quotes for lemonade and coke....

Re: giving people water

Lazy_daisy based on the wonderful story shared by Maulana Aramughal maybe I give you water so your father can give me a job and your hand? Not a bad deal hunh what say you?

Re: giving people water

^ u'll have to fill out buckets from a well and draw them out with ur bare hands and then carry them back to the maid's house....
and it meant he had to be working 10 years for the father-in-law....

dont jump to decisions, read the full story first....

Re: giving people water

please ignore my ignorance, but what “deeds” is sawab promised for?

Re: giving people water

If giving water to animal can result in “pardoning” then why can’t giving water to a thirsty human being not result in “sawab”?
