Re: Giving Islamic lessons with illustrations
I think it’s a wonderful idea to use illustrations. Children tend to learn visually especially when they cannot read so if you read them a story with some illustration, there can look at them and ask questions or answer question. Also it makes Islam approachable and friendlier. I say this because I grew up with a mother who instilled fear of Allah more than love for Allah. she read us qabr ka haal when we were ten. I think children should grow up knowing how much they are loved than literally fear the unseen and the unknown. Therefore, I think any way to make Islamic history, hadeeths more approachable so the children enjoy it and look forward to it is good in my books.
i so agree with you that some elders introduce ALLAH to the kids in a way that instead of loving HIM, they start fearing HIM and for the wrong reasons.
