Perhaps you can explain like what we should do? Should we hand entire country over to them or should we impose their version of Sharia on rest of the country? What do you think is the better option?
what i think of the matter? i think when these regions voted for fazula rehman and he demanded a shariah establishment through legit and federal procedures as the representative of these people we should have allowed them that move. would have saved us alot of headache . if they tried it and felt dissatisfaction then next elections could've seen a change as they did in case of fazal ur rehman. i find it quite troubling when the govt does something undemocratic and clearly against the standarad procedures and creates these upheavels and later turns to deploy army. waste of tax payers money, waste of lives and complete misery. the current method is further radicalising the region. now we are in a mucky position with idiocies comitted mostly past govts. what do i suggest now? let them have what they want, incorporate their fair demands and wishes in the constitute rather than alienating them by using force. we stand to lose much more other wise.
Swati's businesses have been taken over by Taliban... I doubt average business has been taken over by Zardari or other corrupt govt officials. Its Taliban who are imposing civil war, we only want to reply and not surrender.

Let me know where I said that and I'll give you a trophy. Also, it is in Swatis favor if Pakistani army removes Talibans (or should we call them Zalimans) from the area.

yes but its not like they are so easily identifiable , so many else die while they roam free? there is a lot of blame going around how do you dismantle that which you cannot pinpoint?

I'm not in favor of blind shelling or aerial bombing... just shoot at sight whoever is seen with guns, conduct arms search operation etc.

Lal Masjid action was necessary. Only the timing (whether the government should have acted much earlier than 6 months) or the amount of force used in the end is debatable.
A mosque is not the place to keep arms or brainwash people. Those people were brainwashing young minds by preaching them intolerance and hatred
Mullahs should be preaching moderation and peaceful Islam. Sadly that seems beyond most of them.

^ mullah is a derogatory term. people deserve respect. lal masjid was a debacle and waste of lives. i am all for moderation and peaceful society but people who believe in the fundamentals of islam (a reason why we came to call ourselves pakistanis) should feel secure and have an input in the govt . they dont and they are never given a fair say hence you have reactions and then bombing the place to deal with it is the best solution we seem to come up with.cheers if that sounds like moderate peaceful solution to you.
