For all of u bashing the Pakistan Cricket Team please be rational and consider following:
Here we’ve a Bunch of PPL who in the Name of Pakistan try their level best to Build and Raise the reputation of Pakistan
These guys are celebrated by us like heroes and insulted like filth almost in the same breath → this tells a lot about our own state of mind
These guys (atleast most of them) earn their living the clean/legal way
They endure life threats, Media bashing, countinous insults, are constantly under the microscope for every movement and still walk out to do the job
and many more things
Now ask urself Why they still do it ?
One could argue Sportstars need to be role models but then why? Just coz Kids look up to them and may emulate them?
Why not ask the same Question about urself? Why don’t put urself through the same to some extent just to see what’s it like
Why not raise the bar for all socalled leaders??
Why Their is no dharna and Jalsa/Jaloos against every day Loadshedding, corruption, Killing, Mafia Like Politicians, treatment of Earthquake/Flood affected PPL?
A lost cricket match/series is much severe than the national tragedies costing us hundred thousands of lifes and destroying infrastructure woth billions
A case of Misplaced Passion/Priorities/Anger ???
Our Politicians/Leaders claim on TV that Corruption their RIGHT yet we blame players of fixing almost every match that is lost
Our Poilticians/Leaders betray day in day out and suck the nation like no other parasite yet their debates about Amirs returns to national colors!!!

My Guess: For many this Cricket Team is the only Positive to come out of the country but when they lose PPL vent their Anger that has less to do with cricket but has other roots as their arguments display
Weren’t u the same PPL who enjoyed the 27th January 2012 like a long painful wound atlast has healed only???
It’s a mere 6 weeks and it was the same captain, almost the same team members
Channel ur fury at PPL who r responsible for the Mess and don’t let it on 11 who still go out and try to fight it out …
So we should praise our cricketers when they perform well but don’t criticize them when they play poorly? You have a price to pay for being a sports superstar. Sportsmen bashing is not limited to cricket or Pakistani team.
ummmmm… visit Pakistan Affairs and you’d see a lot of politician bashing going on… go on the streets in Pakistan and ask people about politicians and they’d tell you all about it in most colorful language.
I’m for a critical analysis but outright bashing with insulting lingo …
Yet the same PPL cast their Vote for those whom they blessed with “Colourful Language” !!!
What i mean is the amount of Energy Common-PPL spend on Cricket matters would be much better directed to Problems more severe and urgent … Look at the lenght of the thread and the diversity of PPL participating in it … that’s my point
Good points. I was for leniency towards the match fixers, since their crime pales in comparison to what goes on in other spheres (am not addressing it wrt any one country).
Life threats are a no-no. But venting is OK, as long as it is not abusive. It is just escapism from our day to day grind.
