Gwadar Institute of Technology being set up
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan : Dec 06 (SADA) - The project concept (PC-1) to setup Gwadar Institute of Technology in Balochistan’s port city has been given final shape and it will be accorded approval soon, it is learnt reliably.
The project to be completed with the technical and financial assistance from China was started on the directions of President Gen Pervez Musharraf. An official source said the institute would be well equipped with modern technical equipment and total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 63 million. Federal government has approved Rs. 32 million in its budget 2004-05 whereas 31 million is being provided by the Chinese government in fiscal year for the project.
Establishment of this institute will open new avenues of technical education in the Balochistan wherein the education remains most neglected sector. Federal government, sources told was taking all possible steps not only to bring economic development in the province but also wanted to have the people technical education at their doorstep.
