Re: Girls, why can't you let go your brothers?

My point was that "Girls, why can't you let go your brothers" is a general statement.

There are situations where the husbands family can be interfering, but there are also situations where the wife can be manipulative and aim to drive a wedge between a man and his family.

It is important that a man protects his imediate family, but he should not forget the parents who brought him up and helped make him in to the man that he is.

Getting married is not about forgetting your existing relationships and obligations, and creating new ones. It's about adding on to the family you already have.
You may now be a husband and a father, but don't forget that you are also a son and a brother.

It's a shame that many people cannot find that harmonious balance that is required.

The women out there who are jealous of a girls relationship with her brother (i.e. your husband), you are either the ones who have not had kids yet, or so not have any b rothers of your own.

Re: Girls, why can’t you let go your brothers?

One is girls who cannot stop interferring in their brothers lives, another is when girls leech off of their brothers. Someone I know, the family is living on loans but the sisters send their lists from pakistan which include stuff like shampoos, conditioners, sanitary napkins, creams, olive oil, snacks, diapers for kids and the guy sends it, he even has the vonage phone line in pak with a us number basically so they can call eachother often but the sister uses it more to call her old friends in NY :cb: Do sisters not feel ashamed to be spreading their hands infront of their brothers all the time and I wonder how their husbands feel about half their homegoods being financed by their wives brothers. God forbid that I ever do that, ugh.

Re: Girls, why can't you let go your brothers?

I dont have a sister in law...but on the other hand I was thinking that guys who have sisters know more about women in general...that is a positive thing to me I think:)

Re: Girls, why can't you let go your brothers?

dotn have a sister sniff

I really wish I had one...... we'rre three brother's all in uni, we jsut goof off like yahoos off the streeet, no restrictions........ wish it was more structured...

those of you who have a sis are blessed, allah ka shuker kero

Re: Girls, why can't you let go your brothers?

I think there are alot of girl out there who cant stand their brothers getting married. I for one am one of those SIL that has a SIL who is as manipulative as they get, she tries to squeez as much money from her brother (my hubby) as she can get. now if i thought she was asking money bcoz she was in difficulty then thats a different matter, but know we are talking about hundereds of pounds for gucci bags etc!!
She cant stand her brother who once funded her expenses is now spending his life with someone else. I do think that their should be a balance between old and new relationships but I think very few can manage that.

I to am a SIL and i would never ask my brother to pay for anything for me, he has a responsibilty to his wife and family and i have understood that and i think all SIL's out there should do the same.

Re: Girls, why can’t you let go your brothers?
