The exchange of sexuality for money/security … sounds like many Guppans’ definition of marriage, going by most threads on Lifestyle. Virginity/sex are commodities at the end of the day, i.e. they’re traded for a price. This being especially true when women are economic dependents - sex and progeny in return for financial and physical security, etc. I’m reminded of Bernard Shaw’s rants against the institution itself, some of which I find hilarious because they’re, well, true … “the difference between marriage and prostitution is the difference between trade unionism and unorganized casual labor.”
Whether it’s a gold-digging woman or a sex-seeking man or a hedge fund parasite on Wall Street, we’re all ‘prostitutes’ bartering services, fidelity, dreams, and consciences as we see fit.
