No, I would not lose respect for someone who chose to stop wearing hijab…how is it any of my business?? I know plenty of people in our community here who stopped wearing hijab right after the 9/11 attacks. Whatever their reasons are, it’s between them and Allah, how does it affect me and my life???
Just like I would not want to be judged for not doing hijab (I don’t), I’m not going to judge anyone reversing their decision to do so.
