Usually it’s the guys mom that is notorious for causing problems.
What happens when the bride’s mom is not happy with the marriage? Have you guys come across moms who did not want their daughter marrying a certain guy because they think he isn’t good enough or moreover because they would rather see their daughter focus on her career than get married ??
:( i'll be going through this kind of a thing i know, with my mother comparing my to-be with my sister's husband.I think parents shouldn't create very high standards for their daughters' spouses :(
They'll feel sorry for me perhaps and obviously i'll regret maybe at some point, hope not,,but i'll hang in there and wish for my to-be to get settled nicely
I've heard about a marriage which was 100% going ahead, everything was done, wedding cards sent out, etc etc etc, apparently (story wasn't corroborated), the groom was seen having a fag, wedding was over. I'm not a nicotine addict, I like a fag every now and then with my tea or coffee, or when I'm stressed out, would hate to think my marriage would break up like his did over it.
Does bride's mom have valid concerns? What does bride's dad think about the groom? Men tend to read/understand other men better. If the bride's dad likes the guy...then maybe dad can try to convince mom or at least calm her down. Easier said than done, but the bride can try to talk to mom as well and if she can't convince mom about the groom's worthiness....then she should just emphasize to her mom that she really wants/needs her support with the wedding and all that it entails.
