Girl's mehndi first, or boy's?

Is there an order to the mehndis, girl’s first or boy’s first, or is there no particular order and it is however the families work it out?

i dont think there is any particular order.. but i've always seen it on the same day. the guy's family brings the girl her wedding clothes and etc and then they go do the ceremonies with the guy.

I also don't think there is an order that must be followed, but from mehndi's that are not done together (ie. done separately) I've usually seen the guys side of the family go to the girls side first to do all the rasam's and then after that the girls side goes to the guys to do the rasams.

When the mehndi is done together within the same hall....most of the time the guy comes out first and then the girl comes out and the rasams are done together. However, I did once go to a mehndi where the girl was brought out first and the guy came out after, mainly because he had a surprise perfermance for the girl.

In my family if we are having separate mehndis then usually the girl's side has it first & then the guy's side but I don't think there is any particular order. Whatever seems fine to whoever.

yeh usually its the girls side mehndi first
mine is first n then my inlaws r having one
its weird for us becuz both mehndis r in the same hall but first one is hosted by us n the second by my inlaws
shouldve just had one but my inlaws wanted two
only they know why :(

till now i attented togheter mehndis..or some where the girls mehndi was few days later after the boys mehndi...but there is no rules regulation which mehndi is held to be first...i think this first n second mehndi is because it depends when the family members can come n depends when u get the hall..

if it is not joint--- in balochistan and lahore, i have always seen boys mehendi first and then the girls.

Yep I dicovered that recently apparantly the rewaj is that its the girls mehndi that is first and then the guy

I've never been to a joint mehndi -- always one one night, then the next night the other party's, but I couldn't remember if there was an order to it all.

ive only been to joint mehndis never been to mehndi where the grl and guy have seperate mehndis...especially now i think its cost effective to have it one day and its more fun with both families present on one day...i think since the two families (girls and guys) are becoming relatives they should have joint mehndis and split the cost in half and get it over with on one day...as of who comes out first on the mehndi day the guy or the grl in my opinion i think on the mehndi it should be the grl 1st and then the guy bc the second day (baarat) the grl comes out 2nd and on the valima the couple comes out together so it makes sense tht the guy comes out second on the mehndi this way the grl can experience and see her hubby walk dwn the aisle as he would see her on the baarat!! =)
