i mean when someone who is obvously 34 claims that she is 27, the thought thats comes to mind is not, wow you are so much younger than i thought, but "daaamn u aged quickly"
what is better, someone knowing your real age and complimenting that you look much younger than you are
or
telliong people that you are 27 when you are actually 34 and the onlooker thinking dang she aged quickly..i wonder what she will be like at 34 :)
That is something I will never understand as long as I live. What is so special about telling someone you're 10 when you're say 40! Ok, I'm exaggerating but the point is, who the heck cares what your age is?! Kids lie about their age to appear older and more mature while older folks lie about it to look young. It's pretty stupid though. Age is age, and it can't be changed no matter what (notwithstanding wonders of modern technology, but be that as it may...hehehe...) so a person should never hide his/her true age. Staying quiet about it is one thing but outright lying is quite another.
I know a few ladies who got stuck in late 20's, bcz they thought that to be a magical line in the sand... and if they wish to get married they have to stay on the good side of the line and stay at high 20's and not cross over to the big bad 30's. Its all seems a psychological thing to me.
That or some film actresses who forever get stuck celebrating their 21st birthdays (presumably for box-office purposes), I am not sure if all this "hiding your age" thing works for anyone.
^Speaking of crossing lines, I will be doing just that in August as I turn 30. I have no qualms about it whatsoever. As a matter of fact, although I will celebrate my birthday in an understated fashion with family and friends as I normally do, to me, the big “three-o” is nothing more than a number. All it means is that I have thus far survived 30 years in this world…nothing too earth-shaking about that.
I’m a woman and I never lied about my age and I don’t think I ever will. It’s simply beyond me why anybody would lie about there age! your talking about women, heck my uncle has been 28 for the past four years, men are liars too.
the interesting thing is, how can ppl in Pakistan get passports with a fake date of birth on it. I KNOW people and their real ages, and then their passports say something else.
Another funny thing is when people star messing up. like if someone tells you. I am 24, and I got married when i was 20, and then they are celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary :) I kinda said, oh but i thought u were 20 when u got married..response-> no i must have been mistaken i said my husband was 20 when we got married. oh right..so that makes him 27 now? but you were just telling us how much grief he hgot from his family when he turned 30 in 1998.
advise; either dont lie, or just make sure all the dates match your lie.
Today a girl at my university said she was 25 and this white guy just stared at her and said your kidding right you can pass for 20 you know, and he asked me what would you guess her age to be and I just looked up and shrugged and said I don't know, and then he continued to stare at her in awe until she just scrammed out of there! see girls don't lie!

i have a cousin who was once mistaken for 16 when she was 30. she looks really young, even now that she has a kid. usually if u r short, skinny and have short hair u look younger than ur age.
