Girls Like

What is the Islamic viewpoint on characters like the following:

Mehvish - thori si wafa chaiai
Umrrao jaan - indian movie character
-lage chunri mai daag - rani

I guess girls whose life has been turned around by various reasons and have turned to prostitution to support their families.

What is the status of such girls

should there parents accept them as if nothing has happened

just random thoughts (lol before i start getting the various pms)

Re: Girls Like

Lack of knowledge of Islam

Re: Girls Like

I wouldnt support or defend it even on social/ moral grounds. let the religious ground alone.

If someone is desperate and/or starving or forced/co-erced into it I really don't think they can be blamed for becoming a prostitute.. I know that in Islam society is meant to take responsibilty for women so they don't ever feel they have no other choice.. also in times of necessity haram can become halal..

Re: Girls Like

^^ are you feeling ok :smack: .. haram can become halal .. its only when your life is at stake by the enemy that the enemy forces you to denounce Islam or make you eat haram ..or secondly .. your in such a place that no where within miles n miles there isnt halal food available not that is the case in this day n age then you can eat something haram just to survive for the time being until you reach a place then again that haram stays haram.

and prostitution ..is NO excuse ..nor does Islam classify this as a necessity ..

Like some one said above ‘‘lack of Islamic Knowledge’’ :@:

^Why don’t u go and ask an imam if what I said is true rather than just brush aside what I say with the lame excuse that I somehow ‘lack Islamic knowledge’..

Proof that women who have been forced into prostitution won’t be punished (unlike u Fbi 786 I can actually back up what I say with Islamic evidence):

"Do not force your slavegirls to prostitute themselves if they desire to be virtuous women out of your desire for the goods of this world. If anyone forces them, then after they have been forced, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (24:33)

And, no, it is not only in matters of **life and death **that haram can become halal the general ruling that if there is an absolute necessity or no other choice or it is the lesser of the two evils the person is usually told it’s not haram. One obvious example of this is when a single man or woman pleasures themselves if they have sexual urges they have tried and tried but cannot control (and can’t marry) and so play with themselves to stop them doing zina. Ask a scholar and he will say this is acceptable and it’s hardly a matter of life or death, is it??.

If a Muslim woman is forced or co-erced into prostitution I really can’t understand how anyone can argue that in Islam she will be punished.. seems more like culture than Islam to me..

Re: Girls Like

:hmmm: interesting

Re: Girls Like

^^ LK .. you yourself is becoming interesting lol

^^ No way any Imam wud say ..playing with yourself becomes halal .. especially if they have read and studied the hadith of the prophet SAW that if one can nnot control themselves .. they they shud .. marry.. if they still cant then they shud fast …and if they still cant control even during fast then what level of imaan is in that person .. i mean come on .. playing with oneself IS NOT jaiz even to the extent that Prophet SAW has said that playing with one self is like as he/she is married his/her hand…

*these ahadith are from top of my head .. can provide refs.

and Telling someone to ask an imam .. while one themselve searches the net :hmmm:

thirdly, no one said that if someone force to become prostitute .. that it wud become jaiz .. ofcorse its still wrong .. but those who do it out ..just cos they can .. thats harraam ..and no sane Imam wud even provide evidence to allow such thing … if someone is so desprate to earn … then earn something which is Halal .. i,e, work as a maid, even if it pays less its rizq e halal ..or like i seen in egypt ..women selling matches at the side of the roads .. so they can earn something ..even though they do have to choice to go evil and earn more .. its about self respect and your imaan.

^ Still no actual references to back up what u say, can’t take u seriously if all u have is ur own opinion.. the source is quoted is perfectly valid and I’ll be waiting for you to refute it somehow.. Hope you’re not going to make a fool out of urself by trying to pretend ‘Sunnipath’ is not a reputable source or their scholars are not knowledgeable or trustworthy..

And here is the evidence that pleasuring oneself can become halal if it prevents them from comitting zina.. Anyone who has studied Islam properly (and I don’t mean just reciting the Qur’an parrot fashion with little/no understanding of what the heck they are reading like ppl do bk in Pakistan) would understand the concept of the ‘lesser of two evils’, it’s a pretty basic concept to grasp:

‘However, if you find that you cannot relieve yourself except through masturbation, and you fear you may lapse in adultery if you do not masturbate, then the juristic rule which states that the lesser evil is to be suffered in order to fend off the major one applies to you, as masturbation is deemed to be the lesser of two evils in this case. But, we would like to stress that this may be done only in the case of dire necessity, when all solutions prove to be of no avail.’

‘The four Sunni schools of jurisprudence (known as Madhaahib - the Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki and Hanbali schools of Fiqh) have differing stances on the issue. Some see it forbidden in certain cases (i.e. if it leads a man/woman to ignore their spouse sexually) but recommended it when they see it as a lesser evil to illicit sex.

Try quoting a Qur’anic verse or hadith or a scholar to back up your argument rather than posting ur own opinion and trying to pass it off as fact..

Re: Girls Like

lol Fbi786! i meant all comments, not myself. Keep sharing knowledgeable materials :k:

Re: Girls Like

So what about girls who are forced into sex trade and sex slavery and trafficking....are they doomed to hell?

Women who are practically forced to commit suicide as a result of being raped..they go to hell too?

I dont' believe Islam is that black or white...and Allah swt forgives everything and everyone, murder, zinna etc..even shirk is forgiven if a person truly repents and sincerely accepts Islam.

Some people need to stop being so arrogant and learn basic respect for others first.....

Re: Girls Like

Shirk is unforgivable. Hence the thread subject hav different discussion so i'm not posting details bout shirk here :)

Re: Girls Like

why do people look for black and white?
does it really matter what is the fate of the girl that is forced into the sex trade? perhaps life or death for her is whether or not she is beaten up by her pimp.........who knows.
isn't it more important how we react to this girl and how we help her?
why must we decide to be judge and jury when Allah has made it crystal clear that He can decide whom to forgive?

Agree..

There's also that famous hadith about the prostitute who was forgiven for her sins for giving a thirsty dog water to drink..

(am sure those women who are forced/pressured/left with no other choice but to go into the profession wouldn't need to be 'forgiven' in the first place.. can't even begin to imagine the suffering they go thru :()

I think there is a fine line in being forced and doing it by choice.

Rest, indeed Allah is indeed merciful and for sure forgives if you ask forgiveness.

Anyway, lets not just blame the prostitutes but people who support prostitution aswell.

Re: Girls Like

so for such women, prostitution is the ONLY solution to their problems?

yes thats what it is. In lagga chunri mein daagh, Rani chose it for herself which is wrong. when i was watching this movie, i thought they have conveyed a very wrong message to the masses.
