Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Try to wear the gloves

And

There's nothing wrong with a manicure. Guys do it ALL the time and a basic manicure does not mean they're going to polish your nails. It just means they will clean, cut, buff, moisturize and make your hands look neat.

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

My bad. :(

I've tried gloves and they've never helped with the callouses. I could see some logic behind the excessive exercising bit there though, gripping better is another spot that could do some improvement. Helpful advice, thanks! :-)

Phir sach kya hai? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve only tried Olay, couldn’t tell if it helped more with the dry palms or the sticky/oily’ness that it left behind.

So basically, I can’t be helped till I find myself the goodness that a wife is. I get your drift. Thanks. :stuck_out_tongue:

Totally digging the amount of thought given into male maintenance and hygiene here, so anyone specific you’d recommend that serves a man with all that unconditional TLC you speak of on his rough/punny hands? :stuck_out_tongue:

Did try proper lifting gloves thrice, will not try them again. They just don’t prevent the callouses from showing up. Besides, lifting barehanded isn’t too bad a thing to be able to do either.

Interesting. Thanks.

Whats shea butter like?

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Exodus, stoppit once mentioned using castor oil on feet and it had amazing results. Try that on your hands

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

I don't remember it hurting much, because I took my sweet time. Besides the calluses are dead skin, so you only feel pain if you pull healthy skin along with the calluses. Soaking them in warm water prevents that from happening.

LOL. Naw. They come back right away.

Exodus is going to get a manicure. LOL

Just use this. Hemp Hand Protector | Shop By Range | The Body Shop

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Guy hands aren't meant to be soft

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

The hemp hand protector from the body shop is really good for dry hands, but it smells disgusting imo. My brother lifts weights and he uses Neutrogena’s Norwegian formula concentrated hand cream, it seems to work for him so you could try giving that a go:

Right on :biggthumb:.

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Start wearing gloves when lifting! I remember when I used to do gymnastics as a kid and hanging off the bars would give me blisters too. The best way to get rid of the current calluses is to go for a manicure to get a head start and then to maintain that by applying vaseline and going to sleep with gloves on overnight. That should soften them and you should be able to pull them away (dont force the skin away or you'll end up cutting and wont be able to lift) and continue applying thick hand cream once you remove the gloves. Any winter/cotton gloves will do. And def. get grip gloves for lifting.

I know because a) my SO is a huge gym buff and has been lifting for a few years now and has complained about getting calluses and blisters and b) I HAVE UBER-SOFT HANDZZZZ. Seriously, I kid you not but people grab my hands and tell me my hands are the softest hands ever and my mom jokes that it's proof I have never done a day's work in my life. :p

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Use gloves when using dish soap and other home cleaning agents. They do a number on my hands and nails. I hate wearing gloves though.

Body butter for hands is nice.

Re: Girls, how exactly do you keep your hands nice and soft.

Shea butter is very moisturizing…also depends on the product

I think a good place to start is just good old udder cream.

Dry Skin - Get Udderly Smooth Udder Cream for Dry Skin

I actually saw this stuff in an auto garage.
