its nothin permenat and maybe eventually he will get sick of it and shave it off.

Now if a man look like abhishek with out the shave (notice the HUGE nose and over all ullti chapaal jasa munn) ten yeah a little distraction in form of scrufiness is a must. But if you are a handsome fella do not hide it behind a 5 o clock shadow coz it gives us female rash on the lips when we kiss ya.
Scruffiness just coz a man is F***** lazy is not hot ,he will also have messy hair un trimed nails and dirty look but if you do it for fashion then do it right.
