Girls on your wedding day, if u made a heavy bridal gold set, how much did that gold set cost? And how many grams of gold did it weigh if you don’t mind me asking, u do t have to mention the grams if U do not want to

My in-laws made my gold bridal set, so I don't know how much it cost, but I can tell you how much gold it was. The set I wore was 75 grams- it was a "lara" type, meaning it was long and had 3 or 4 strands/layers. I had gold bangles that were 73 grams on one hand and two bangles (karas) that were 49 grams.
I was given 3 other gold sets by my in-laws. One of the sets came with a ring with red and green stones, which I wore on baraat day along with my diamond wedding ring. Total amount of the gold they gave me came to 336 grams.

However I think it is important to keep in mind how insanely expensive gold is nowadays, and realize that everyone is not super rich. I know of this very, very wealthy family who we are close to in Pakistan, and for their son's wedding they did not make a heavy set for the bride (even though I'm sure they could). It's gotten hard for everyone nowadays to afford gold.

Mine first day was 10 tola frm my parents. Walima day was 4-5 from in laws.. I dont know how many gram is that.

Around 20 tola for the baraat is the standard in my family, ugh. Thankfully my parents bought gold bricks in advance for us kids so that's out of the way. That being said, I dont want to get jewelry made on my baraat since I want to wear my mom's jewelry and if I get anything made, it'll be a paanch lara haar which doesnt have much gold in it.
But 10-20 tola is what usually is worn (given also by in-laws) by the girls in my family.

For all girls wedding is a reverie occasion. Every girl wants to look special on this particular day of her life.For an Indian bride her wedding trousseau is very important.

my bridal set was 76 grams I.e 7 tola and 6grams. it was bought march last year and cost just over 2lakh. it was a plain antique gold set. although it wasn't huge it looked appropriate for the occasion. I guess if it had beads in it would have looked bigger, but I like it the way it is. it could easily be worn again.

oh I had 7 churian from my side. total weight 82g.
from my husbands side the walima set was prob about 5 and a half or max 6 tolas. they got me 6 churian and 2 karay.
in total I got 20 tolas from my side and 30 from my husbands side. other members of the family received much more, but the price of gold was so high when I got married, so I don't blame them.

If Gold rate is 48,000 tolla then Zakat is
Tolla = Zakat
20 = 24000
30 = 36000
40 = 48000
50 = 60000

yes i do pay zakat. i was about to sell than my uncle said that my gold is a way of feeding poor than why sell it. he meant was if i sell gold and than i wont be paying zakat and ofcourse those who get my zakat will be left out.

from my mum side i had first day set about 10 tola, churrian about 8 tola, small set 4 tola and a gift set from my mamoo
from inlaws side, 2nd day set 4-5 tola, churrian about 8 tolas and hubby gave me bracelet on third day a tola and a set first day about 2-3 tolas
plus mum gave my daughter one ring about 2 tolas. so i do pay alot of zakat and ofcourse Fil pays most of it on my behalf:)
