what profession are u in and what do u know about inequity in pay, when compared to boys and men?
Re: Girls and women - pay inequity talk!
I work for a very large international corporation. I used to work in the Human Resources Department's IT section, therefore I had full access to all employee data. When I was bored, I used to write/generate reports just to compare wages and see what gender is getting paid more, what race is getting paid more, what region is getting paid for the same job. Well, men get paid more for the same job and men were hired for higher positions such as manager, regional manager, executives etc.
And I believe stereotyping still exists and that's why women are getting paid less in most case. However, there were a very few instances where women were getting paid more for the same job, but not too many. I am with the same company but I've switched departments now.

you useful insider!!!
that was your work... making reports on people's salaries.
Well, thank you Shikra,
as a male, you are brave that you made this observation. so commendable.
yes, there are long fights to be had to win, pay equity in all field of work,
except ,
house work, where women get paid nothing... basically for all their generous volunteering that borders on self sacrifice. & still the factor of work is by and large a null factor, as for men, there is 'thought' to be hardly any work to be done by them. so here we have a situation of work-inequity!!!!!
kiya samjh lugiya?

Re: Girls and women - pay inequity talk!
Well, that was just part of my job and in a young age, I leared way more than what an average person (who doesn't work in HR) knows. Now I will have some background information while discussing salaries.
Anyway, believe it or not, women are still considered to be "housewives" as their prime duty and men are considered to be the bread winners. That's typically why they get paid more. Plus, in most cases men are reliable because not a lot of men (compared to women) drop their kids off at school ,stay home when children are sick, take them here and there. Mostly they stay after work hours to work on projects. Since they are more dependable and they have to support the family, that's why they get paid more.
Remember, there are exceptions and these are stereotypes, which may not be true in all cases.
