This could be true if he is not looking at the other girl alot and his attention is towards the girl he is with. If he is with another girl but looking at me alot then it is awkward.

For some you are more of a challenge when you are with someone, it makes the situation more fun. Some just cant stop gawping because they have an aadat of doing it, some are probably comparing the both of yous and noting who is uglier or prettier and some are just plain jealous cuz they havent got that.

when a guy is spotted with a girl, the guy earns a certain reputation of being "secure, safe, reliable, etc." All the decent qualities that a gal wants in a guy. Instantly he becomes a good catch.
