I think a girl should never ever ever make the first move. May be its just her wrong assumption that the guy is on the same page, and if, by any chance, it turns out that the guy was never really interested; uh oh its gonna hurt her self-esteem pretty badly. Second, as the relationship proceeds, they will undoubtedly get into fights now n then (like every couple does) …… and then its not unexpected of him to mentions that “ I was nt left with much options” or “I did it out of sympathy” or “u were the one who was head over heels in luv with me.” Besides, believe me, there are countless ways to make him confess first 
and occupy his heart then to just push ur feelings on him. Infact, it should nt b very surprising ….. if he feels pressurized or if he tries to run out ov the situation en masse. Rule of thumb, if he is really having sum feelings and occasional butterflies in his stomach, he is for sure gonna mention it, verbally or physically

restless - If you can't handle an answer never ask a question. As far as the rest of what you wrote, people mature beyond that though. If a man acts this way with you, he isn't done growing, throw him back for a while and fish some more. That is a sure sign of a manipulator. As for playing games making him want to confess, yeah that worked for my first marriage, by the time I was ready to marry again, I was too old to play the game :)
BTW - As in any relationship over a number of years, my husband and I have fought. He and I are two of the most stubborn people you could get into a room together. Never in all the time I have known him has he ever said anything like you posted. That just shouldn't happen between two people in a committed relationship.

Restless, ummz i dont think it hurts the girls self-esteem... i think us females work in a very different way. If he rejects u, take it as a learning curve and be proud of urself that u had the guts to say how u felt... there is not wrong with that..

How about the other way? you don’t think gusy will get hurt? or is every girl he asks out obligated to say yes? and if a guy asks u out, u saying that ull throw it back at him, “i did it coz i felt sorry for u!” “i had no options!”…

There are no rules. FOR ANYTHING. There is no right or wrong way to do something because circumstances are different in each case. Christ. Do whatever your heart says, what is best in the situation.

Restless - Ugh - much older?? Thanks, even though it is true - ur about the same age as my son :) There is a chance getting hurt owning a cat if it dies, but people still do it. Hurt happens, you learn what you did wrong, then go on. Nothing else you can do. But like MehnazQ said you will never have the regret if you try. But you have seen at least two of us answer, we did it and now are married. Myself at an older age and Majestic in her awesome prime. I just wish that when I was at your age, I could have done that.

I don’t feel attacked and neither am i attacking u when i say you sound more like 12 than 18
