If you really care about someone and have genuine feelings for them, then you should tell the other person. Fear of rejection is what stops most people from confessing their true feelings. Rather than having regrets or thinking 'what if' for the rest of your life, just take the risk and tell the other person. Worse thing that will happen is that they will say they aren't interested. You'll hurt for a few days, a few weeks, possibly a few months, but your life will go on and you will survive. At least you will know where you stand, and chances are, you will have no regrets.
