Is it normal for girls to obsess over their other girl friends? To the point where all they do is talk about them or discuss what they’re doing, and only show up for outings when that person they’re obsessing over is coming?
I have a friend like that, and I find it quite weird. However, we were really good friends at one point, but for the past few months we hardly talk because of her crazy obsession with another friend of ours. And now I kind of feel left out. 
How do I even confront or fix such a situation…

Well, maybe your other friend is very fashionable or might have slighted her in some way in the past. Your friend might be trying to “show her up”?

How old are you guys?
Some people are like that. They will only go if someone they are comfortable aroound are also going etc. Nothing to be alarmed about.

Maybe this other girl hurt your friend and that's why your friend is "obsessing" over her? If someone is really hurt, they can go on and on about the other person. It can be difficult to forget hurtful incidents. If that's the case, then tell her politely to move on.
But if she's obsessing over this girl for another reason, then I find that a bit strange. Insecurity/jealousy?
