This is so stupid. Never did our Prophet pbuh KILL or HARM anyone for not following a fardh, instead he taught people about Islam.
His job was to spread the message, and live by the message. Pakistanis especially take this the wrong way, they spread the message by force, and dont live by it at ALL.
THe media has already started using this against muslims, the things just keep piling up.

Sad but awakening news.
we have to keep our lives balanced. Islam should be planted in ones heart not forced upon.
I feel for this guy he wasted his life. was driving a cab to make enough money for his family. his only mistake was not paying much attention to his kids and their religious activities. when he tried to sort the matter out it was too late.

don't get me wrong. no one should be allowed to take one's soul. that task should be left for Allah alone. all i'm saying is this scenario is not a unique one. lot of desi parents go through this. some ppl know how to manage some don't.
there are tons of things this guy could've done to avoid this outcome, but then again anger is haram for a reason. you lose your ability to make right decisions.
on second thought parents dont kill their son when they go astray. i suppose once you embrace north america/europe you should expect same behavior from your daughter aswell. no shock no harm.

This news can be a reminder to us Muslims living in the west and even in Muslim countries,,
I don't want to go in a debate but parents should really teach Islamic values at home isntead of forcing it upon a kid who has pressures of the "civilized life".. if the parents do just that, then the kid will have friends with the same values...
in another forum a brother brought up this hadith about friends:

Anger does not lead to murder. You have to dehumanize another to do so, which he obviously did as she was female. This has nothing to do with "american" culture, it has EVERYTHING to do with freedom and the right to not be oppressed. Sadly, forcing people to follow your way of life and thought IS oppression, and you're supporting it by blaming this girl's free will on western culture.

This situation arose because of a father who murdered his daughter when she chose not wear hijab. There are no "remainders," to parents in this thread, unless you're going to tell them to not kill their kids.
Btw, "homosexualism is an insult to women because it equates sterility with fertility," is insulting to women as it makes the suggestion that women are only worthy of sex when they are ovulating, resulting in their worth based solely on their reproductive organs.

It's as much about Islam as it is about culture. Islam is a highly patriarchal religion, resulting in vast misogynistic attitudes by many practitioners.
he obviously was able to justify his actions at the time islamically (whether or not we agree with his perception), which means we need to take a serious look at the common denominator in all of these crimes.

then it's really not necessary, as it's digressing from the topic which is one of a 16 year old girl murdered by her father.
It is insulting, as the statement makes a point about sterility (homosexuality), vs. fertility (heterosexuality), and equating females with fertility, thereby making their importance solely based on their reproductive organs. It's not hard to see. Sexual intimacy between consenting adults has absolutely nothing to do with the status of either sex. If we'd like to continue this conversation, we could do it in pm, as I don't want to detract anymore from the topic at hand.
