Lets be honest - this is not exactly a problem with Islam. When was the last time you heard a Malaysian or Indonesian defending his "honor" by killing off a child?
It's all about culture - South Asian or even Arabic culture. The real issue is this guy was some stupid Pakistani or brown skinned fella. Wherever you have a feudal patriarchal family structure you'll see stupidity like this.
