This news can be a reminder to us Muslims living in the west and even in Muslim countries,,
I don't want to go in a debate but parents should really teach Islamic values at home isntead of forcing it upon a kid who has pressures of the "civilized life".. if the parents do just that, then the kid will have friends with the same values... in another forum a brother brought up this hadith about friends:
Allah's Apostle said, *"The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is I like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof." * [Bukhari-Book of Sales and Trades]
This has nothing to do with values. She was a modern girl who lived a decent life. Simply not wearing a hijab does not make you less moral than a woman who does. It's a damn piece of cloth, don't blow it up to something that it's not.
