If so I think I might have been a Jew in a past life, no seriously, I feel at home with the Jewish religion almost as much as with Islam, I’ve never been to a Synagogue but I’ve seen an orthodox Jew pray and it seemed quite spiritual, I went to a Christian primary school but I’ve never felt any affinity towards Christianity, I grew up watching Hindu worship on TV but I’ve no feelings for their religion either.
It’s not just the spiritual side of it, I have a nostalgia for all things Hebrew/Israeli, I support the Palestinians and their right to independence and don’t agree with the Israeli state but I also get really pissed off when people like Ahmedinejad deny the holocaust, when I read about the concentration camps if feels like it’s my own people…
I might buy those topis they wear and pretend to be a Mizrahi Jew.
First of all, I think that its not true and you just wanted to start a thread with a controversial topic to attract other posters. But let us assume that it is true
It looks like you are spending too much time in the company of Jews and have too many jew friends
I think in you case its Ok to be inspired by them cause it is very obvious that your friends are better Jews than you are a muslim otherwise they would've been inspired by you
Wouldn't it be great if they were inspired by Islam because of your company. Woudn't it be great if they wanted to wear a topi just like tableeghi bhai's or Maulvis instead of you wanted to wear their cap
No this concept is completely alien to Islam, and believing in it is forbidden.
Secondly it is also forbidden to love any other religion, let alone feelign at home with it as much as with Islam.
It is also forbidden to take up any object thats specific to another religion, for eg. the cross, or the jewish cap you mentioned, etc.
Please note that these are very serious issues and can lead to apostasy too.
Judaism and Islam dont go together. If you love Islam you would never love Judaism, or anyother religion for that matter....because Judaism rejects the Prophethood of Isa (as) and Mohammad(sas). Accepting Judaism as a valid religion means approving of the rejection of these two Messengers of Allah (God forbid).
Don’t be silly guys of course I believe in Jesus Christ PBUH and Prophet Muhammed PBUH.
I should have said “almost” at home with Judaism as with Islam.
Islam is my favourite but if I’d never heard of Islam I would definitely have been a Jew.
Tariq I don’t have any Jewish friends, all the Jews around here are Ashkenazi’s so they’re not very shag worthy, but some of the Mizrahi and Sephardi are quite tasty, I mean just look at Bahar Soomekh or Yaniv Katan …
Some of them might have been class1 Mushriks but the ones today they only pray to Allaah in their own way, I know only our religion is the complete truth but they reject Shirk and refer to it as Avodah Zarah.
Wouldn't it be nice if we built the Al-Aqsa/Temple-Mount together and prayed there in our own ways (they their 3 Salaah and we our 5 Salaah), neither of us believe in making "graven images or bowing to them" so they'd be no need for iconography and symbols in the Temple so we don't offend each other...
We wouldn't have to accpet each others religion as truth but just learn to co-exist like the times when the Muslims rescued the Jews from European Catholic/Christian persecution in 711 in Iberia (Al-Andalus) and later when the Catholics defeated the Muslims the Muslim Ottomans gave the Jews safe haven in Turkish lands...
