What he did was ofcourse the “right” thing to do and I’m pretty sure that more than 90% of the people wouldn’t have returned the money. He’s now getting awarded and all. I guess that’s to show people that him being honest was definitely worth it.
But what makes me sad about this is that last year a janitor in Islamabad died while saving the life of hundreds of girls in Islamabad’s International Islamic University. He was called a hero by the Pakistani government for his heroic act, however his family was given NOTHING…and for some reason I have the feeling that this is related to him being a Christian.

They promised his family to award his bravery with 1 million rupees, but didn’t give them even a single penny.
This is how we honour our “heroes”. Look at the garbage lying next to his grave. But hey, how can I complaint after knowing how the great leader and founder of our country was treated by our people in his later days.

If what you say is true then it truly is sad… a good deed should be honoured. I am not the sort of Muslim who denies other faiths tribute when it’s deserved.
But at the same time i also recognise my faiths own contributions are just as great as any others and more so…!

The reward was by the hotel, not government. Taseer has 'announced' that he will be rewarded, but no cash received, correct?
