Re: ‘Gilgit Baltistan would prefer India to Pakistan’
First of all I dont know what PoK is… And we have already discussed the issue of Pakistan soldeirs in Azad Kashmir. Obviously you didnt read comment about that.
The pretext of Pakistan army being in Kashmir is just that. Its part of the Indian script, which each of you Indians love to repeat ad-nauseam. Clearly the supposed issue of Pakistans Army is something you have been well indoctrinated with through the prism of the Indian centric educational system. Really, every single Indian repeats the same tired points over and over and over… Its as if your govt has gone into over drive in order to make sure every one of you is on the same page.
I doubt the Pak Army or anyone else would have a problem with demilitarizing the entire state of Kashmir. However, as Siachin issue has shown, your Army, the Indian Army, does not want any sort of demilitarization. Neither do most of your Indian political parties. That makes sense from the Indian perspective because clearly, the only way to hold Kashmir is through the coercive tactics employed through your Army. So really the problem lies in India. The fear in Pakistan ofcourse as always been the case, is that demilitarization would have to come with the assurance that your Army would not use the opportunity to invade a helpless Azad Kashmir. That assurance can come through UN peacekeepers perhaps.
But once again, the Indian side refuses. It wont even allow UN observers, let alone peacekeepers.
Bottom line here is that your govt, not only refuses a so called plebisicite, it wont even entertain the notion that Kashmir people have a right to self determination. The presence of Pakistan soldiers is an ofter-thought. First you have to clear the mental hurdle among Indian who refuse to believe that Kashmir is NOT a part of India. once you acknowledge that, then we can proceed to the next step.
