Re: "Gilgit and Baltistan, India's integral part"

I think people of the Northern Areas(gilgit and baltistan) should decide whom they want to be with.Th

Become a part of Independent kashmir.

A province of Pakistan.

An independent country.

But surely not with India.

Many baltistanis and gilgitis have being famous in their respective feilds. The most famous of them is nazir sabir the only pakistani to climb everest.

Re: “Gilgit and Baltistan, India’s integral part”

Thanks for posting the names of some other ‘integral’ parts of Bharat. :k:

Re: "Gilgit and Baltistan, India's integral part"

Make line of control a border.

or

Make Jammu, Kashmir and Northern Areas an independent Kashmiri/Dardic country.

Anything else will not work, you think Pakistan will let India have all of the disputed land or vice versa? I don't think so, be realistic.

Re: "Gilgit and Baltistan, India's integral part"

"" this is the fact that Balochistan is an internationally recognized and UNDISPUTED part of Pakistan, also accepted by Bharat-mata.
Kashmir on the other hand is an internationally recognized DISPUTE, and Bharat-mata also considers it a dispute.""

Bangladesh was also once an undisputed part of Pakistan....

Re: “Gilgit and Baltistan, India’s integral part”

:rotfl: rasining storm in a tea cup, I see. what makes you think we’re holding our breadth for Pak to “let” us have anything? we know you guys will try every other decade and get kicked back.

Re: “Gilgit and Baltistan, India’s integral part”

Your didactic abilities not withstanding, perhaps it would be wise to be educated on subjects prior to pontificating.
First: Kashmir is not a disputed territory. Perpahs, if you read the relevant US resolutions it may become clear.
http://daccessdds.un.org/doc/RESOLUTION/GEN/NR0/047/72/IMG/NR004772.pdf?OpenElement
Kashmir, all of it, is recognized as a part of India. Hence, the resolution that Pakistan wishes to implement piecemeal, requires that Pakistani forces withdraw and Indian forces move in to control, prior to any action being taken.
Second: Any potential disputed status of Kashmir changed when Pakistan formally gave away a potion of it to China.
Third: Pakistan dismembered Kashmir into PoK and “Northern Areas”. Per the UN resolution, everything is Kashmir. Pakistan wants to change the border of Kashmir to fit it’s own interest.
So, a savant like you should know that: According to international standards Kashmir is as “UNDISPUTED” as is Balochistan.

Re: "Gilgit and Baltistan, India's integral part"

more important to the people of these areas is attention by the government. The pakistani government has largely ignored these areas in terms of allocating proper resources...whatever area they end up being a part of, they should consider their own interests and progressiveness. more important is the well-being of the residents...and that no more killing takes place over map lines.
there have been talks of baltistan as a separate state/and also of it becoming parts of tibet i believe....not sure.

Re: “Gilgit and Baltistan, India’s integral part”

Baltistan becoming part of tibet, eh? :omg:

Re: "Gilgit and Baltistan, India's integral part"

Baltistan can never become a separate state. The population is hardly more than 400,000. It is entirely dependent on Pakistani aid and the Pakistani military to defend it.
According to the solution currently being implemented in Kashmir, Baltistan and Gilgit will together become a province of Pakistan will full representation in the National Assembly.
I personally think this is the best solution. The Baltis on the Indian side mainly live in the Kargil area of Ladakh. They are all Shias and have never taken part in the Kashmiri freedom struggle. They are happy to be part of India although they would like access to their brothers across the LoC. This can be achieved by opening the Skardu-Kargil road to traffic.

Re: “Gilgit and Baltistan, India’s integral part”

^^ The part I don’t get is why kashmiris are not so sacrificial when it comes to their fight against India?
I mean I was told by kashmiris here that it was perfectly fine for them to have foreigners come and fight for them :omg:

If Chechens OR Palestineans had received the kind of help that kashmiris did, they would’ve been long have their own states by now..

On the baltistan front I think NA can comes as two provinces of Baltis and Gilgit if one Northern Areas designation doesn’t suit the people there. These people were one of the first to revolt (incidently led by a scottish or irish officers against the dogra forces). I can’t remember that guy’s name but he was in pakistan couple of years ago.
