Do models use the same beauty products in shoots that they are promoting or in product advertisement.

I'm not sure if they do, but there is extensive photo editing done such as changing lighting, adding effects, air brushing, etc that is what makes their skin look flawless.

I can see the fake eyelashes on for the mascara commercials but what about eyeshades, blush? Shampoos... is it all fake advertsing?

even mac doesnt use the same makeup it advertises.

and the funny thing is that they had a face chart , telling how to achieve the look in the photoshoot using mac products, when they themselves didnt use mac products

I am not Gina, but i highly doubt the models use the products they advertise. Afterall, they are getting paid to promote a product not use it for so many weeks and come back and shoot with results.

But for instance the Dubai Fashion Week was sponsored by Maybelline, then the MUA's only use products by Mayebelline.
The Body Shop campaigns/shoots often use Makeup Forevers' foundations. Usually it's left upto the MUA and they use a cocktail of products.
Even hair products, I did a campaign (Wella) and they used Fekkai products.
wouldn't it be illegal/false advertising for them not to wear what they're advertising? I'm sure they put on a whole bunch of other stuff, photoshop it, and then still wear whatever they're selling

I hear makeup and products that they use on fashion shoots are not even available to the masses.
Body paints, extensions etc.
The body-makeup (that goes-on the arms, back, neck etc) isn't available in makeup stores. Sometimes the false lashes aren't branded, the wigs and extensions don't carry any labels.
The body makeup is extremely extremely pigmentated and takes AGES to remove!
